Right now, our future doesn't look so great
Hey, I'm Cassie, Cassie Holmes. I'm a watcher currently hiding out in Hong Kong from the government operation Division.

"Well hello there miss. Is there anything I can help you with?" She smiles and peers down at the girl.

"No.. no, not particularly." Cassie answered, as stone faced as she often was. "You wouldn’t happen to know where I could get some chicken around her though?" she asked, teasing.

Cassie and Director Fury

“If you accept my offer, I can guarantee you that Division will not get their hands on you. Division might be good, but SHIELD is better and will not let them get close. That’s exactly why I want you. You’re good and with training you could be even better. Maybe in a near future you can take down the whole organization once and for all!”

Cassie put her gun back into her bag. Deciding that this was perhaps the best chance she had at stopping Division. “Ok, fine. I’ll do it. I’ll work with.. SHIELD.  Bu what exactly is the first thing you are going to have me do?”

“I’m going to introduce you to Agent Coulson, he’ll take good care of you. He was always fond of strays,” his lips quirked in a smile. “You’ll do a psychological evaluation and then we’ll ran some medical tests. After you get settle him, I’ll introduce you to Agent Romanov and Agent Barton, they’ll be your teachers.”

Cassie raised her eyebrows, “You’ve certainly thought everything through. Honestly I’m disappointed I wasn’t able to catch on earlier. But what the hell do you mean by psychological evaluation? I don’t want people messing around inside my head.”

Cassie looked the man over. He wasn’t one of the agents from Division that she recognized so that set her slightly at ease. They wouldn’t have new agents in this fast. However she was still wary of him. She looked around as she answered him.

“Um.. yes? Can I help you?”

He studied her for a moment.

“Empty warehouse in the middle of nowhere. Not the most common hang out for a kid your age.” Removing a hand from his pocket, Coulson gestured around them briefly. The agent gave a small smile. “But I suppose you’re not as relatable to most of the teens in Hong Kong.”

Cassie gave the man a questioning look. “Well, you would be correct. I’m not like them. But how did you know that, are you a watcher?” She was slightly taken aback. She didn’t like it when people knew things about her when she knew little or nothing about them. Especially when she didn’t even know what their name was. Cassie looked around to see if their was anyone else near them. Thankful they were alone she asked, “Who are you?”

“Agent Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Not a ‘watcher’, but it is a bit like my job to know things.” He mused. Phil took a modest step forward. “We don’t know much about ‘watchers’, however. I was hoping you could shed a little more light, actually.”

Cassie nodded her head. She’d hear of SHIELD before, it was another government agency, but it was the opposite of Division. They weren’t going to hurt her. “Well what do you want to know about watchers? Technically we’re classified as people who see the future. But it’s not that simple. We.. se things that might happen because of certain things people did. Does that answer you question?

Cassie was staring out the window at Stark Tower, flipping through her sketchbook. She seen so many people dying, something was terrible was going to happen, and soon. She quickly shoved her sketches into her bag as she heard someone come up behind her, not wanting anyone to know about what she had seen. She was going to change it, and the only way she would want anyone to know about it is if she couldn’t take care of it herself. She turned around to scurry out of the room when she ran smack into the person the tower was named for, Tony Stark himself.

Tony had been around SHIELD HQ all day, he hadn’t been there in a while -since all the things that had happened had taken away all his time- but it was nice to go there and bother people from time to time. He had had a small, not-so-subtle fight for the last word with one of SHIELD’s female agents and had messed up with Fury’s office just to annoy him. But it had taken too much time and he had grown bored quite quickly so he went back to Stark Tower only to find a girl there, and having her bump into him. He placed a hand on her shoulder to help her with the balance and looked at her with curiousity.

“How did you get here?”

“Umm, well Director Fury brought me here. He said that you’d but up with me until they had something on base for me to stay in.. did he say nothing to you?”

Cassie felt herself blush and backed up from him as she realized he didn’t know about why she was here. Perhaps that was for the best though. Trying to not act  rude or hostile towards Tony, she offered him her hand, “I’m Cassie Holmes.” She hesitated before she went on. “I’m one of the psychics that blew up the warehouse in Hong Kong.”\

“Fury has this bad habit of not telling me things I should know..” he muttered taking his hand away from her shoulder and letting her finish before starting to talk bad about the spy. “Pleasure to meet you I’m Tony Stark, you probably already knew that though.” he took her hand and shook it for a second before putting it in his pocket.

“Oh so you blow up things? I already like you Cassie Holmes. Why are you here, though? Why is Fury telling you were to stay?”

Cassie smiled, “yes, I have a tendency for.. pyrotechnics. But um.. that’s not why I’m here. SHIELD brought be in because I’m a watcher. They want to have someone who can tell them what will probably happen before it does.” She let her face drop as she talked. Every time she talked about it Cassie felt more and more like a weapon, rather than a person. “Anyhow, you got anything to eat around here? I don’t know about you but I’m starving.”

Tony nodded already quite interested, but also made his way to the kitchen gesturing to her to follow. “A watcher? What’s a watcher give me more details?” he pointed to one of the stools, silently telling her to sit and opened a few cupboards. Tony wasn’t good at cooking but he could make a sandwhich for her. So he took the ingredients and got to work.

"Mm well, a watcher is a psychic, one that’s ‘ability’ is to see the future. But it’s so shaky I wouldn’t even really call it the future, more like a possible outcome of events is more along the lines.." She told his as he made her food. She smirked to herself. From what she’d heard about Stark, she had thought him to be the absolute last person she could get to make her a sandwich. "Um, per chance would you have some scotch or vodka around here?"

Nodding her head absentmindedly with her answer, Kristina grabbed the leftovers from her lunch today and placed them in the microwave to heat up.  Cassie had fired another question her direction and she hadn’t realized there was such terminology for people like them… it was very limited.  ”I can’t be put into one category I don’t think, perhaps it would be easier to explain and let you label me if you can.  I can read minds and project my own thoughts to others, mind control over any breathing thing I encounter, and I can heal others.”  She paused, realizing that when she said it, it sounded like a lot.  Pulling the plate from the microwave she walked into the living room.  ”Are there words for those?”

Cassie nodded as Kristina tried to explain what she was. “Well to me it sounds like your a weird crossover between a Stitch- someone who can heal people, and a pusher- you can put thoughts into other peoples heads. But the who mind reading thing, kind of freaky. I’ve never heard of it. Division would have a field day if they found out about you.”

“Division?  There’s something that keeps track of us?  I don’t like the sound of that..”  Especially since she had an ability that apparently they’d never heard of, she’d been pursued enough for her abilities in the past.  She’d rather not have reason to worry about it again.  ”I half expected you to say I was a reader as well or something like that.  But yes, here’s the food I mentioned.”  Setting down the warm plate in front of Cassie, she settled in another chair with her own half of the grilled chicken sandwich.

"Um yeah, Division keeps an eye on a lot of people with abilities." Cassie told her as she took a bite out of the sandwich that had been set before her. "But something tells me you aren’t exactly a psychic, if you aren’t that would probably be why Division hasn’t picked you up yet.  Although I’d think they’d be interested anyways, they don’t like people that have unusual abilities."

“Just curious..”  After all, it was late evening and though she seemed capable enough, the fact that she was 13 lurked around Kristina’s mind.  Then again, inviting Cassie to stay in her life for a while would be a hell of an explanation in itself to both the girl and her friends.  ”Anyway, you said chicken right?  You can make yourself at home and I’ll get that started.  Any allergies I should know of?”  The question probably sounded odd, but it was one she would always ask.

Cassie laughed “Nope, no allergies. I’m just not very diverse in the foods I choose to eat.” She walked around her the room that Kristina had led her into. She threw her bag onto the ground and plopped down onto the couch. Cassie was known for having a tendency for always acting like she owned the place she was staying in. Especially is she hadn’t technically been invited in. “So what are you? Are you watcher like me? or a shifter, pusher, mover..” Cassie asked trailing off.
